Stop-And-Frisk Reforms in NYC

During the Mayor De Blasio administration, the Stop-And-Frisk practice in NYPD ended. This practice generated tension with the Hispanic and Black communities, allowing the police to randomly search suspicious suspects.
While there is no new policy yet, this change in NYPD will help the police officers (the street level bureaucrats) to improve the relationship with these communities. Setting boundaries to the action of police officers can improve how people in the city perceive the agency.
It is important to realize how a little change in the behavior of the street level bureaucrats can produce a big impact in the society. Nearly 90 percent of the people questioned and sometimes frisked were completely innocent of any crime, and nearly 90 percent of them were black or Latino.
While the Stop-And-Frisk has never proved its value as the graphs below show, it does, however, carry a high cost for the people.
